Sedona AZ  (June 11. 2013) – Are you Smart Meter Aware? Or, are you aware of Smart Meters? There is discussion in Sedona and all around the country about the value and effects of Smart Meters. Some say all the fuss is about nothing. Others say watch out!

Either way, Sedona residents should explore the issue and become aware. If Smart Meters are harmless and pose no effects, why is our local electric utility pushing so hard for installation of Smart Meters? In some places, people are getting arrested for blocking Smart Meter installation. And yet in other cities, ordinances are passed to stop the installation of the Meters.

The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) is charged with regulating the utilities for the benefit of the public. That preempts cities from adopting their own utility regulations. And yet some Sedona residents want to make Sedona Radio Frequency (RF) free. The list of amenities Sedona offers tourists includes clean air, delicious drinking water, small town atmosphere and fine dining, back country tours, and maybe – just maybe – RF Free.

If we have had cell phones and other RF devices for years, what’s the concern? It’s just that this Smart Meters emit more RF and at a higher frequency that intrudes on the human brain. And there’s more of it when Smart Meters are added to the airborne frequency smog. There are hundreds of videos on YouTube (including the one in this story) that tell the story of people’s concerns and reactions, some in very graphic ways.

Come learn for yourself June 19 at 5 pm in the Sedona City Council chambers. In a matter that could have grave consequences for you and your neighbors, it pays to be educated.
