The Sedona Heritage Museum’s popular Sedona Stories speaker program continues in November with guest speaker Don Groves addressing the work of Sedona Sister Cities Association (SSCA). The talk will be held on Thursday, November 13, at 10 am in the Sedona Heritage Museum’s historic Apple Shed.
Sedona Sister Cities Association was organized just three years ago, but in a short time has already built strong international connections. Earlier this year, Sedona and Canmore, Alberta, Canada officially became Sister Cities.
Several programs have frown from this relationship, including the recent young artists concert at Sedona Performing Arts Center and cross programming between local libraries and schools in both communities. Additionally, a relationship is growing with Jaslow in Poland, which earlier this summer hosted a collaborative exhibit with the Jaslow Regional Museum, Sedona Heritage Museum, and Goldenstein Gallery.
Don Groves, Sedona Sister Cities Association board member and chair of the organization’s Canmore Committee, will share SSCA’s successes and what comes next in terms of growing Sedona’s international relationships.
Sedona Stories is a monthly program of the Sedona Heritage Museum. It is held at 10 am on the second Thursday of every month.
