    Amaya Gayle Gregorywanna know why
    it’s beyond hard
    why you seem to bang
    your head on dead end
    after dead end
    trying to grok what is

    you weren’t taught to
    embrace the flow
    to freefall while standing tall
to dance while wrapped in chains
    to see light in darkness
    to see darkness in light

    certainty is required
    the right answers
    the right way
    solutions come prepackaged
    with ways to get there
    end results built right in

    answers don’t account
    for unanswerable queries
    don’t … can’t consider
    the inconceivability of you
    don’t leave room for
    life’s wondrous mystery

    from your first breath
    you were trained to know
    thinking is the way
    think about it
    what were you thinking
    think positively

    Sedona Gift Shop

    proud of your ability to
    figure things out
    to sus right from wrong
you put your thinking cap on
    and work out the
    questions of life

    trust your thoughts
    put your full weight
    behind them
    hanging onto threads
of the known even as they
    fray and rot

    answers come from
    what is already known
    what others figured out
    could it ever be possible
    to enter the unknown
through the belly of the known

    that requires a different
    wisdom empty of all thought
    wisdom fueled by experience
    feeling without buffer
    meeting life as it is
    as you are

    set down your baggage
all the things you trust and know
set it all down and walk on
    into your life
    into your death
    into the unknown

    Compassion Has no Party

Whether you are Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, one truth remains: the vast majority of people on this planet are, at their core, decent. They believe in fairness, in dignity, and in the simple idea that other human beings matter.
