Camp Verde, AZ- Tuesday, October 14th at 5pm at Camp Verde Community Library Sedona Poet Laureate Gary Every will lead a poetry workshop titled “Sacred Spaces, Sacred Rituals, and Sacred People”.

Poetry is necessary, it appears in our lives in ways we take for granted.  We turn to poetry during times of celebration or look for solace during periods of great loss

Poems are read during important ceremonies such as weddings, graduations, and funerals.  We often look to the heightened language to mark rites of passage, helping us navigate the future

Often in times of crisis we remember lines of a poem shared with us decades earlier by a grandparent, teacher, or close friend and find comfort.

The elevated emotions of poetry can help transform daily tasks such as making breakfast for a child before school, a daily commute, or moments of quiet reflection into sacred acts of prayer.
