Sedona, AZ — October 17-On November 5, Sedona MUFON will honor the 50th anniversary of Travis Walton’s extraordinary and world-famous UFO encounter with a special screening of the award-winning documentary TRAVIS: The True Story of Travis Walton at The Sedona International Film Festival, the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.
Travis Walton and film director Jennifer Stein will be in Sedona to present the film and host a Q&A discussion following the 3:00 and 7:00 pm shows. They will engage with attendees, sharing insights and experiences that have captivated audiences worldwide for 50 years.
On November 5, 1975, Walton, then a 22-year-old forestry worker, was struck by a beam of light from a mysterious craft in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest near Snowflake, Arizona. Witnessed by six coworkers, Walton vanished for five days, prompting a massive search involving scent dogs and helicopters. His reappearance near Heber, Arizona, and his account of an alien abduction became one of the most documented and debated cases in UFO history.
This documentary provides a rare and important explanation of how deliberate debunking, including lies, extortion, and bribery, attempted to crush this story and ruin the lives of the crew and their families.
The film rapidly captured multiple awards of recognition for its brave approach, providing impeccable in-depth facts that connect the dots with real content needed to understand how the veil of secrecy works.
“We embrace open-minded exploration and respectful dialogue,” says Jennifer W. Stein, filmmaker and Sedona Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) state section director. “Travis’s resilience continues to captivate and connect all those interested in the unknown.”
