Sedona News – Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) announced that the Breast Care Clinic at Cancer Centers of NAH in Sedona has earned full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The Breast Care Clinic recently submitted for reaccreditation after having a lapse in accreditation due to deficiencies that were unrelated to direct patient care.
This three-year accreditation shows NAH is dedicated to providing the highest level of care and delivering every possible advantage to every patient undergoing breast disease treatment.
According to the NAPBC, accreditation is granted only to those centers that have committed to provide the highest level of breast care and have undergone a rigorous evaluation and review of their performance. During the survey process, the center must demonstrate compliance with standards established by the NAPBC for treating those who are diagnosed with the full spectrum of breast disease.
As a NAPBC-accredited institution, the Breast Care Clinic becomes an ACS Surgical Quality Partner. Being a Surgical Quality Partner signifies an institution’s dedication to consistently improving procedures and approaches, while maintaining a critical eye on process at every step. The Surgical Quality Partner designation lets patients know that NAH is dedicated to quality and relentless self-improvement and has been verified or accredited by the ACS. Patients can trust that the care they receive at Surgical Quality Partner hospitals adheres to the most rigorous standards in surgical quality.
“We are thrilled that our hard work and dedication has resulted in the Breast Care Clinic at being reaccredited by the NAPBC,” said NAH Oncology Service Line Administrator Amy Stapleton. “During our last reaccreditation process, although the surveyor wrote that ‘the quality of care that NAH provides meets or exceeds the accreditation standards,’ there were non-care related shortcomings that needed to be addressed. NAH remedied those deficiencies to receive its reaccreditation, and will continue to bring state-of-the-art breast care to Sedona, making it a leading destination in expert breast cancer care,” Stapleton added.
