This proposed roadway will extend Broadway Road in Clarkdale from the old smelter location to a connection with Cement Plant Road.

The proposed extension is a component of the 2012 General Plan, the 2013 Sustainable & Economic Development Plan and the Bitter Creek Industrial Focus Area Plan. The connection is a key to opening up the industrial area for development. In July 2017 the Town of Clarkdale received a $50,000 Rural Business Development Grant from the US Department of Agriculture to explore design possibilities for this road extension. The Town has worked with engineers from SEC, Inc. to identify the best route through difficult terrain.

The proposed design will be presented at the open house, as well as challenges facing the project and next steps in negotiating right-of-way and identifying funding possibilities for completing the road extension.

One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
