logo_professionalwomensgroupCottonwood AZ (March 5, 2019) – Professional Women’s Group of Northern Arizona (PWG) welcomes four new board members for the 2019 term. With the addition of these women, the PWG board now consists of 10 women who represent the areas of Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Cornville, Prescott, Sedona and the Verde Valley.

Gloria (Glo) Rodriguez moved to the Sedona area in 2013 and is a videographer that helps animal lovers celebrate pet holidays and promotes adoptions for local shelters. She achieved a Master in Education, a Bachelor in Business Management, an Associate in Information Technology and has been an award-winning pet talk show host. Glo stated her canine companion, Koda, constantly reminds her of the fact, “life is fun”.

Joyce Gonzalez comes to us from New Jersey, moved to the Mayer area in 1993 and now resides in the Verde Valley. She owned her own salon for three years in Old Town Cottonwood but decided to change careers. Her love of meeting new people and helping them learn about the Verde Valley and Sedona has led her to real estate. Joyce has three grown daughters, loves the ever-changing landscape in Arizona and will travel to Norway this Spring to welcome her fifth grandchild.

Marcia Shanahan and her husband relocated from Nebraska to Clarkdale, AZ in 2017. They have been vacationing here for over 20 years and fell in love with the Verde Valley. Marcia is a full-time employee for First National Bank of Omaha with over 30 years of experience in the banking industry. In addition to serving on the PWG board, she is an elected council member for Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, in Clarkdale and enjoys connecting with other professional women and supporting local women through our scholarship program.

Marilyn Huffman, 2019 Vice President of the PWG board is the Regional Director for the Better Business Bureau, Yavapai Campus, and provides educational presentations and strategic partnerships throughout the Northern Arizona communities in Apache, Coconino, Navajo and Yavapai counties. A Phoenix native, Marilyn became a resident of Prescott over four years ago. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, singing, hiking, and traveling.

PWG offers quarterly luncheons in January, April, July and October at the Cottonwood Recreation Center. They also provide networking opportunities on the fourth Tuesday of the month in February, March, May, June, August, September and November. For more information on these events and information about becoming involved, please visit pwgaz.org, for event dates, locations, times and to RSVP.
