Verde Valley News – One in three American adults have prediabetes, and many do not know it. Prediabetes increases your risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.

If you have prediabetes, you can prevent or delay your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by improving food choices and increasing physical activity.

The PreventT2 lifestyle change program, offered by Yavapai County Community Health Services, can help you make lasting changes to prevent type 2 diabetes. You will work in a group with a trained lifestyle coach to learn how to eat healthy, add physical activity to your life, manage stress, stay motivated, and solve problems that can get in the way of healthy changes. PreventT2 is part of the National Diabetes Prevention Program, led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and is proven to prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.

    Ode to Sleeplessness

    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

I sleep well most nights. This is something relatively new for me. For many years, I was a raging insomniac. I didn’t sleep well last night and found myself meditating around 4am, not so much to get to sleep but for something to pass the time.
