    Partnerships in Cordes Lakes and Lake Montezuma helps residents properly dispose of medications

    Yavapai County News – MATFORCE, a primary prevention organization focused on stopping youth drug use before it starts, has partnered with Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO), the Beaver Creek Community Action Team, and Cordes Pharmacy to offer residents an opportunity to properly dispose of medications.

    Since 2008 over 44,800 pounds of medication have been collected and properly disposed of through Dump the Drugs events and drop box locations throughout Yavapai County.

    Prescription drug take back events are a convenient way for community members to dispose of expired or unwanted medications. The Beaver Creek Community Action Team and YCSO are hosting a Dump the Drugs event on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Beaver Creek Adult Center, located at 4250 E. Zuni Way, in Lake Montezuma.

    YCSO and Cordes Pharmacy are hosting a Dump the Drugs event on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Cordes Pharmacy parking lot, located at 20172 E. Stagecoach Trail #A, in Cordes Lakes.

    In an effort to promote continued proper disposal of medications throughout the year, 14 prescription drug drop boxes can be found throughout Yavapai County for convenient disposal. Contact your local police department for more details.
