Of course, Biden was going to pardon his son. Who wouldn’t?
It’s naive to think he was telling the truth when the president said he was not going to pardon him.
Putting myself, as a father, in his place, I would pardon my son in a New York minute if he were in the same situation as Biden’s.
I would make an exception and not pardon him if he were guilty of a violent crime, armed robbery, murder, or something along those lines—like heisting an armored truck.
But a white-collar crime? Please.
Trump was convicted of a felony. And he will soon be our president once again, for heaven’s sake.
So what if the younger Biden lied on a form to buy a gun while stoned on whatever?
And tax evasion? Pay the fine and move on.
Painting Biden as a liar is a waste of paint because lying is what our elected officials do. It’s part of their job. They all lie. They have raised lying to an art form. The better liar they are, the higher they rise in the political food chain.
It’s puzzling why the talking heads are wasting so much energy on the pardon. So what? What’s the big deal? So he pardoned his son.
Would any other loving parent not do the same for their own child?
And as far as the Bidens being a crime family, it would be a waste of time to try to convict them of the alleged crimes.
Again, how many politicians dip their paws into the honey pot of the public treasury?
Corruption is practically a prerequisite for public service.
At this point, let sleeping dogs lie. Concentrate on what’s coming when Trump grabs the leash and gets down to the business of changing America forever.

It is not that President Biden pardoned his son for what we know, he also pardoned his son for what we don’t know. The pardon goes back 10 years. But you are correct, it was not a surprise.

“Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted. Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form. Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently.
The charges in his cases came about only after several of my political opponents in Congress instigated them to attack me and oppose my election. Then, a carefully negotiated plea deal, agreed to by the Department of Justice, unraveled in the court room – with a number of my political opponents in Congress taking credit for bringing political pressure on the process. Had the plea deal held, it would have been a fair, reasonable resolution of Hunter’s cases.
No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son – and that is wrong. There has been an effort to break Hunter – who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution. In trying to break Hunter, they’ve tried to break me – and there’s no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough.

I would have agreed with Tommy Acosta that any parent with the power to pardon convictions and commute sentences would pardon Hunter Biden. If President Biden simply said I love my son. I am giving him a pardon, I would feel comfortable with the bumbling president’s decision. But no Tommy Acosta that is not what the absent-minded president did. Joe Biden strongly insisted that his son was a victim of the justice system. He stated that the only reason Hunter was indicted and convicted was because enemies of the president orchestrated the conviction and sentence.

Thank you, Joe Biden, for what good you did for America. But shame on you for decades of influence peddling and using your family to enjoy financial kickbacks.
