    Oak Creek Apples: February 2019 Meeting

    logo_oakcreekapplescomputerclub2Sedona AZ (January 10, 2019) – There will NOT be an Oak Creek Apples Macintosh Users Group (OCAMUG) meeting in January, 2019.

    By way of advance notice, on Saturday, February 16, 2019, beginning at 9:30 AM,the Oak Creek Apples Macintosh Users Group will offer a general question-and-answer session on Apple computers, iPads, and iPhonesat the Golden Goose Restaurant, 2545 W State Rte 89A, Sedona, AZ 86336. The restaurant is located on the south side at the stop light at the intersection of Andante and W. 89A. Alan Gore will facilitate the meeting, which can include self-pay breakfast at the option of each attendee. Admission is free. Pre-registration is desirable but not required. Register by emailing to oakcreekapples@gmail.com.

    At this time, no Oak Creek Apples meeting is planned for March or April, 2019. It is planned that meetings at the Sedona Library will resume for May and June. Announcements will appear in local media each month finalizing the plans.

    The Oak Creek Apples Macintosh Users Group (OCAMUG) is exclusively an educational institution for the public on the use of Apple Computers and other iOS devices, including maintenance, security, and software applications. OCAMUG is a 501.c.3 organization and donations are tax deductible. Membership in the Oak Creek Apples is open to anyone who wishes to belong. For more information ask at the meeting greeting table.

    The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols

    Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
