Verde Valley, Ariz. – Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) announced that Sharita Nagaraj, MD, has joined Verde Valley Medical Center (VVMC). Dr. Nagaraj is a surgeon who specializes in general surgery, breast surgery and endoscopy.
Dr. Nagaraj has a decade of experience treating a variety of conditions including breast disease, hernias, gallbladders, intestinal problems, and skin and soft tissue lesions such as cysts and lipomas. Her practice also comprises routine endoscopic screening for colorectal cancer, which is recommended for all patients starting at 45 years old. Dr. Nagaraj will be working alongside NAH breast surgeon Kate Preston, MD, at the Sedona Breast Care Clinic, expanding services for patients diagnosed with breast cancer.

Dr. Nagaraj earned her medical degree from Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York and her undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She completed a general surgery internship and residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. Nagaraj is board certified by and a member of the American College of Surgeons. She also is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
NAH has prioritized recruiting new providers in northern Arizona, and will continue to introduce additional providers as part of its commitment to delivering exceptional care for the communities it serves. This will ensure that residents of Verde Valley can remain in their communities to receive the best health care.
