VERDE VALLEY, Ariz. – In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) will once again be offering $85 mammograms in Sedona and Cottonwood, including 3D digital screening and reading fee, throughout the month of October.
“Our goal is to make screening mammograms more attainable for all, regardless of insurance coverage,” said NAH Oncology Service Line Administrator Amy Stapleton.
Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare recommend women 40 and older have annual screening mammograms and continue to do so at the advice of their physician. Early detection is the most effective and efficient tool to identify treatment options and increase long-term survival rates, and all three of our locations offer high resolution and innovative 3D imaging technologies to help detect more invasive cancers.
“Breast Cancer Awareness Month helps educate the public about this disease, and we want to help people understand how important preventive care is,” said Stapleton. “An annual mammogram is the first, important step a woman can take to control her breast cancer risk since the earlier breast cancer is detected, the more treatable it is. We also encourage women to educate themselves about what lifestyle changes they can make to lower the risk of breast cancer, while also improving their overall health.”
NAH will be offering screening mammogram appointments at all three Verde Valley breast imaging locations:
- Sedona Office at 3700 W State Route 89A, Sedona
- Monday-Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Verde Valley Medical Center at 269 S Candy Ln., Cottonwood
- Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- NAH Medical Imaging Center at 340S Willard St., Cottonwood
- Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m
To schedule a screening mammogram in October, please call 928-639-6580. Appointments are offered on a first come, first served basis, and it is highly recommended individuals book their appointments early. Please note, if there is no availability at a patient’s first choice location, NAH can book an appointment at another location with availability.
NAH has prioritized recruiting breast specialists in order to provide the highest level of care and delivering every possible advantage to every patient undergoing breast disease treatment. NAH has tripled its breast surgeon coverage at the Breast Care Clinic at Cancer Centers of NAH in Sedona, and currently has three surgeons that rotate at that facility, as well as a full-time physician assistant that supports the staff. The clinic is fully accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), and will continue to bring state-of-the-art breast care to Sedona, making it a leading destination in expert breast cancer care.
