Verde Valley News – Kim Carlton, Physician Assistant (PA-C) at the Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) Cottonwood primary care office, has been named NAH’s 2024 Advanced Practice Provider of the Year in Verde Valley. She is recognized for her positive attitude, respect for colleagues and the skilled, compassionate care she provides to her patients. Advanced Practice Providers (APP) are an essential part of any patient’s care team, as they work seamlessly with physicians and other members of the care team to ensure that each patient receives the best care possible.

This is the sixth year NAH is recognizing APPs. The recipients are nominated by colleagues and must exemplify the NAH values of doing amazing work, showing compassion, being better together, building community and respecting differences.

Carlton’s colleagues who nominated her noted her willingness to jump in and help wherever she can, and her kind, caring, appreciative attitude. One colleague said of Carlton, “Her work ethic is unmatched. Kim always advocates for her patients and staff, and is a huge asset to Team NAH.”

The APP of the Year Award aims to select providers who not only excel at patient care, but who go above and beyond when it comes to patient safety and quality. It also recognizes providers who are engaged members of the community and are leaders and role models within the organization.

“Kim has been such an invaluable member of the team at Verde Valley Medical Center. People know her for her positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond. We are so pleased that we are able to honor her hard work and dedication,” said Dave Cheney, CEO of Northern Arizona Healthcare. “APPs are such an essential part of any patient’s care team, and we believe it is important to recognize these members of Team NAH who are committed to working tirelessly with the community each day,” Cheney added.

To schedule an appointment with Kim at the Cottonwood primary care office, 340 S. Willard Street, please call 928-634-5551. For more information on NAH primary care in Cottonwood, please visit https://www.nahealth.com/northern-arizona-healthcare-medical-group-cottonwood/.
