SEDONA, Ariz. – The city of Sedona and contractor, Combs Construction Company, will pave State Route (SR) 89A throughout Uptown Sedona during the weeks of June 9 and June 16, 2025 with work occurring at night between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. to minimize the impact to businesses and residents. The schedule is as follows:

    • Week of June 9: SR 89A, between Art Barn Road and Forest Road (in Uptown)
    • Week of June 16: SR 89A, between Forest Road (in Uptown) and the “Y” roundabout

Crews will be working in small sections each night to ensure SR 89A is reopened during daytime hours. Full lane and road closures will be in place during nighttime paving operations, with detour routes in place. Motorists will utilize Wilson Road, Schnebly Road and Owenby Way to bypass the closure areas.

In case of an emergency, please notify construction personnel and they will accommodate access as best as possible. Motorists should anticipate delays and allocate extra time when traveling through the project corridor during nighttime hours.

Access via car to businesses will not be possible during certain windows of the nighttime work; direct outreach to those businesses on the impacts of construction is being conducted.

This work is highly weather dependent and subject to change. This work is being performed to assist with deteriorating asphalt along SR 89A through Uptown Sedona, and will extend pavement life and enhance the road quality for Sedona motorists. Following paving operations, crews will return to apply roadway striping.

Additional project communication will be provided via email updates. To receive these updates, send an email request to news@uptownnorthbound.com, visit www.sedonaaz.gov/uptownroadwayimprovements or call the Project Hotline at (928) 852-4164.

    Beatles Tribute at Blazin’ M

I can honestly say, having grown up in the Bronx in the 60s, that if it had not been for the Beatles I most likely would have grown up to be a criminal or been killed in a violent gang war.
