    Meditation Class at SedonaFit Begins October 4th

    Sedona AZ (September 256, 2014) – Certified Meditation Instructor Pamela Joy, PhD is teaching a new weekly Meditation class beginning October 4th at SedonaFit, 1835 State Route 89A in West Sedona. The class will continue from 8:15-9:15am weekly. Each class will include brief discussion of various fundamental meditation principles, preparation for practice through breath or light stretching exercises, and a 30-minute practice that includes breath awareness, silent sound meditation, and other techniques. photo_pamelajoyThe class is open to experienced meditators as well as those who are just beginning.  The cost is $3 per class for SedonaFit members and $8 for the general public.     Pamela Joy, PhD has had a lifelong fascination with the evolution and development of consciousness. She completed a doctoral degree in Human Biology and Evolution and was a tenured professor at a major university when she began to approach the subject from non-Western and complementary perspectives. For the last 20 years, she has been helping people improve their health, brain function and overall happiness with CranioSacral Therapy, Yoga, and Meditation. She is known for her ability to present complex scientific research findings in a way that is both understandable and relevant to spiritual seekers, and for bringing spiritual principles to scientific discussions. Her book, “Meditation: Therapy for Your Brain” is forthcoming in 2015.

    Yes, That Was Biden at the
    State of the Union Address

    It was about three minutes into President Biden’s speech in his State of the Union address when I found myself searching for clues as to the speaker’s real identity. “It just couldn’t be him,” I thought. An imposter had taken his place and was getting away with it!” Where was the stumbling, fumbling, bumbling President America has grown to love? What the heck was going on? His demeaner was confident. He was lucid. He did not lose himself somewhere in his mind between sentences. He hardly referred to his notes and went on delivering his message in an almost totally coherent way. He even went off script when Republican hecklers using their doth-the-lady-protest too-loud defense against him, protesting loudly after being accused by Biden that they were out to wipeout Medicare and Social Security.
