Yavapai County, AZ – MATFORCE, a primary prevention organization with a focus on stopping youth drug use before it starts, continues the MATFORCE Messages virtual learning series with newly scheduled presentations. This virtual learning series covers a range of topics presented by subject matter experts with a focus on building healthier communities. Presentations are held virtually on Thursdays from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
What is Stress & How to Manage It in a Healthy Way, presented by Tom Benson, is scheduled for Thursday, June 26th at 11:00 am. Scientists and medical researchers have established beyond doubt that persistent stress can poison our overall health. This presentation provides evidence-based strategies to manage both day-to-day and chronic stress.

Words Matter, presented by Jamal Givens, President/CEO, LPKNC, is scheduled for Thursday, July 17th at 11:00 am. Words Matter is an interactive educational presentation designed to empower community members by highlighting the impact of language on mental health, relationships, and school culture. Participants will explore the effects of microaggressions, harmful language, and stereotypes.
The workshop encourages respectful communication, emotional intelligence, and peer support. Featuring video discussions, real-life stories, and group activities, the presentation aims to build empathy and create a more inclusive environment where every word counts.
