Deva Premal & Miten with Manose & Friends Concert on September 9 at Sedona Performing Arts Center

Sedona AZ (August 22, 2014) – Their 2014 MANTRAS FOR LIFE tour is touching down in twenty-two countries around the globe, including Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Australia, the USA, Canada, Peru, Brazil, Chile, Argentina and many more in Europe. They have a new album and a new five piece band, but the love Deva Premal & Miten generate in their perpetually sold-out concerts remains unwavering.

20140822_mantrasFor nearly two decades, audiences around the world have flocked to performances by the beloved mantra singers, Deva Premal & Miten with their rapturous Nepali flute maestro, Manose. On the 2014 tour they introduce Joby Baker (bass/percussion/vocals) and Spencer Cozens (keyboards), making a five-piece ensemble to create a deeper, harmonious, soulful support for audiences who come to chant with them. These stellar musicians will be performing in Sedona at the Sedona Performing Arts Center on September 9. For more information visit the EVENTS page at www.DevaPremalMiten.com. Unity of Sedona sponsors the Sedona, Arizona MANTRAS FOR LIFE concert.

Deva Premal, Miten and Manose’s new album, MANTRAS FOR LIFE, is for their global fans interested in a daily mantra-meditation practice, and for anyone who has felt the stress of life in the 21st Century. Rooted in the tradition of Japa, a spiritual discipline of meditatively repeating a mantra 108 times, Deva & Miten invite the listener to join them in chant – and to utilize humanity’s most powerful healing tool: the voice.

The album includes chants to invoke specific intentions: for physical strength, for the blessing of children, for poetry, music and learning; for perfect timing; for animal welfare, and for the earth itself.

Miten comments, “Every album has its own spirit. Mantras for Life is all about dedication and commitment. The point being, that commitment to a spiritual path doesn’t need to be serious or difficult: sincere, perhaps, but not necessarily serious!”

Miten continues: “We conceived the album as a tool for communal practice. Our experience over the years is that the mantra practice thrives beautifully on communal participation. Our goal with Mantras for Life is to encourage communal gatherings where friends come together to chant the entire album in one complete session. It is as if the listener/chanter completes the musical circle which in itself, is the invitation.”

MANTRAS FOR LIFE testifies to the success of their invitation. Deva Premal & Miten consider themselves flame carriers of a 5,000-year-old tradition. They continue to deliver mantras in an accessible way for the growing legions of new practitioners who are adopting mantra meditation as a transformational discipline in their everyday lives.

What is a life anyway? A single “life?” Is it nothing more than a collection of emotions and thoughts, reverberating pain and pleasure, hopes, dreams and fear? Are we merely meat; flesh and blood creations encapsulating what we believe is a soul? Or is a single life the microcosm and macrocosm of human life on earth, each one of us a unique representation of who we believe we are and the whole of humanity at once? We are born. We grow old. We die. Everything we experience is but a dream between those two points. Or are we manifestations of a Divine Creator, every one of us complete in the image that we were made? So, we are told.
