Sedona AZ (April 22, 2014) – Award-winning, world-renowned comedian and television star Helen Hong brings her outrageous stand-up comedy show to Sedona when she performs live, onstage at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.  There will be three performances May 2-4, presented by the Sedona International Film Festival.

20140422_HelenHong4Helen Hong is currently appearing on three network sitcoms: “The Crazy Ones” with Robin Williams on CBS; “New Girl” on FOX; and “The Thundermans” on Nickelodeon. She recently made her feature film debut in the Coen Brothers’ Academy Award-nominated film “Inside Llewyn Davis”.  She was given raves for her recent appearance on the new Arsenio Hall show.

Hong is a comedian, TV personality, actor and dating expert. As a standup comedian, her “cute little Asian girl” demeanor leaves audiences totally unprepared for her irreverent and sometimes naughty material. She was a semi-finalist for three years in NY’s Funniest Stand-Up Competition, was selected for the Emerging Comics Showcase at the NYC Underground Comedy Festival, and was a semi-finalist in California’s Funniest Female Contest.

Hong’s adorable stage presence and mischievous point of view have landed her on The Huffington Post’s Favorite Female Comedians list and a profile in The New York Times. She’s a favorite pop-culture funny gal on TV Guide Network’s “Count It Down” series and Fuse Network’s “Video on Trial” series, and stars as a professional wing-woman on Logo Channel’s reality dating series “Setup Squad.” She’s been seen on E!, TLC, PBS and in national commercials for Fedex, Walgreens and Honda.

Hong’s irreverent material has been featured on TV Guide Network’s “Standup in Stilettos,” and she’s a regular comedy panelist on “The Yo Show”. She has performed standup at comedy clubs and casinos across the country, in Puerto Rico for Armed Services Entertainment and at dozens of colleges and universities.

There will be three performances of Helen Hong’s comedy show May 2-4. Showtimes will be 7 p.m. on on Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3; and a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, May 3. Tickets are $15 general admission and $13 for Film Festival members and students. All tickets include a meet-and-greet with Ms. Hong in the lobby after the show.
