Annexation again?  Must be some newbies to the area or trouble makers from either side of the line.  Lived in Verde Village 30 plus year just to let you know, ok.  The county takes good care of us.

Utilities are in thanks to our forbears of VVPOA.

I have no problem with Cottonwood City, at one time I even lived there.  The only rotten thing I could say about Cottonwood City is they stole our water company depending on how you look at it.  That said, what does Cottonwood City have to share that we don’t have?

Cottonwood for population has a really large debt they want to share with us, no thanks I’ll share with the County.

Ok, what else?  Fire Department? Have one that covers a large area and is inter related and it’s great!

Police protection got that too! Cottonwood police response time might be quicker (maybe)! Like I say, police (no disrespect) show up to do the paper work mostly and if some real trouble comes everyone shows up.  I’m very happy with the Sheriff Department and neighbors should watch out for each other, right!

Cottonwood gets our money by sales tax, shopping and so on but what city doesn’t.

So, what does Cottonwood have we need?  Cesspools work fine when taken care of and ours will last for years, Cottonwood does have them also.

To Sum it up, if I must share debt I would rather share it with Yavapai County and by the way Cottonwood City is part of the Yavapai County.  So really who is supporting who?

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
