The City of Sedona hired Cityscape a consulting firm, to advise the city on site locations for future cell towers as the country expands wireless access through the recently passed 5G initiative. The consultant did a powerpoint which is available on the City website. On one slide she noted, “the city will have a say in regard to public health, safety and welfare.” Unfortunately, that’s not true when it concerns adverse health effects of increased exposure to RF radiation from the expanded cell tower network planned. The consultant cited the 1996 Telecommunications Act  where Section 704 requires local government to make written decisions on siting applications that are based on substantial evidence and not on speculation or because of federally preempted reasons (such as concerns about RF Radiation). Federally preempted reasons?  Is that a gag order on health discussions related to radiation exposure? We can’t ask for proof of the safety of the cell tower expansion?  When did public health become such a low priority?

The consultant later stated that radio frequency emissions are exclusively regulated by federal standards and that RF exposure is so low that human and animal health is not affected.  There are many independent scientists who disagree.   FCC standards date from the 90’s before the explosion of wireless. Thousands of peer reviewed scientific studies show adverse biological effects from exposure to low level non-ionizing radiation. Dina Maron, in the May 27 issue of Scientific American, cites the recent National Toxicology Program’s partial findings of its $25 million animal study that tested the possibility of links between cancer and chronic exposure to the type of radiation emitted from cell phones and wireless devices. Maron states, “The findings, which chronicle an unprecedented number of rodents subjected to a lifetime of electromagnetic radiation starting in utero, present some of the strongest evidence to date that such exposure is associated with the formation of rare cancers in at least two cell types in the brains and hearts of rats.”  I urge council and residents to do their own research and express their concerns to the FCC and to our state representatives in Congress.

Unfortunately we have been bombarded by high power RF since the days of the first radio station.

Then TV transmitters and repeaters, LIKE in the village. Now you have wireless internet services like Comspeed and e Sedona (owned by Conspeed). The future of broadband will include massive build outs of these wireless networks offering gigabit services, making 5g look slow. The frequency spectrum has already been purchased for $billions and huge companies are making these investments, because people demand the service.

The cell towers in comparison radiate a miniscule amount of energy as compared to what has been hitting us for decades.

And look up, from space we are under 24 bombardment from multiple communication satellites.

Protect yourself. Get a tin hat.

So just because it has been happening to us in the past, it is okay to agree to make things even worse than they are now? You have no idea as to how the 5g is going to affect humans. There is a boiling point, and I am sure you have heard of the frog in the kettle with the boiling water metaphor. Unfortunately, we are the frogs in this analogy.

It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
