    All my friends in Sedona,

I have written several articles and comments on the mayoral campaign which fortunately will be over next week.

I have commented via written articles and responses to news stories that the campaign in Sedona is taking on a familiar pattern that was applied to two of my groups on a couple political issues over the last several years.   Lies, deceit, mis-representation and scare tactics.  Nothing has changed apparently in our fine city.

20140823schrader1The Red Rock “News” its again showing their colors as a political hack paper, despite their commitment to keep their views to the opinion section. So much for that. Is anyone really surprised?

Tuesday will be the telling tale. Will Sedona voters again fall for the tactics of the groups whose sole propose for supporting a candidate is “what’s in it for me”, our will they vote for transparent accountable leadership.  The letter from sitting councilman Ward speaks volumes

We will see if the wool is still over the voters eyes.

Get out and VOTE!  The turnout in Sedona in recent elections has been rather disgusting. Let’s change that.

PS, I also support a NO vote on home rule. Time to reign in the spending.

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
