City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (June 7, 2018) – Instant piano – Your former piano teacher might not approve, but thousands have learned the secret of how to play piano without reading music. If you’ve ever wondered how it’s done, mark June 26 on your calendar. That’s when the Sedona Parks and Recreation Department brings Craig Coffman to teach the nationally-renowned “Instant Piano” workshop.

Coffman’s approach reveals how the pros play. For more than 22 years this workshop has taught more than 100,000 people to play.

“While the classical approach stresses discipline and precision in playing, this approach stresses enjoyment and getting great sounds early on,” says Coffman. “While precision is vital for classical music, this pain free method is more suitable for pop music of all kinds, from Broadway to rhythm and blues.”

Coffman promises that after this workshop each student will know how to play any pop tune with both hands using this system.

Instant Piano will be held June 26 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Posse Grounds Park Recreation Room, 525 Posse Ground Rd. There is a $25 registration fee in advance, and $29 supply fee that will be collected the day of the class.

Just once guitar – If your interest is guitar, plan to attend a different Coffman class on June 27, 6:30-9 p.m. at Posse Grounds Park in the Recreation Room at 525 Posse Ground Rd. There is a $25 registration fee in advance, and $29 supply fee that will be collected the day of the class.

The class will teach you the basics about playing chords. Coffman says “Many students just want to learn how to play simple tunes and they can start doing this right away. Others want to go further and I am able to point them towards the right materials to help them go down this road. In the class we discuss some of the common mistakes people make and the hurdles that prevent them from learning the guitar.”

This class is designed for the absolute beginner.
