    Incident at Sedona Red Rock Jr./Sr. High School

    SEDONA, Ariz. – At approximately 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, the Sedona Police Department responded to Sedona Red Rock Jr./Sr. High School after school officials received a tip indicating that a student may have brought a weapon to school based on a message posted on social media.

    After receiving the information, school officials acted immediately by locating the student, separating the student from their belongings and calling the Sedona Police Department. Officers responded within six minutes and conducted a thorough search of the student and their belongings. No weapon was located.

    The Sedona Police Department arrested the student for threats related to the incident and an investigation is ongoing.

    Due to the swift and coordinated response by Sedona Red Rock Jr./Sr. High School staff and the Sedona Police Department, the situation was handled quickly and safely. At no time were students or staff placed in harm’s way.

    This incident concluded safely because the information was promptly reported. The Sedona Police Department would like to reinforce the importance of community members reporting any threats or suspicious behavior so they can be investigated without delay to keep our community safe.

      Sounds like the kid in question was SWATted by someone. Hopefully they were treated with respect and apologized too for the trauma of having been falsely designated as an armed threat which involves some traumatic law enforcement presence and commands to render neutral. It’s great whenever lives are saved due to rapid intervention but it’s another thing for the victims of malicious reporting if that is the case here.
