Sedona, AZ — The “In the Living Room Music Series” continues its success with deep dives into the lives of local musicians at the Sedona International Film Festival’s Mary D. Fisher Theatre.

On Monday, March 23 at 7:00 p.m., series creator Shondra Jepperson sits down with singer-songwriter Gary Simpkins, fiddler Tony Cook, and Canadian bassist Kris Baldwin for an evening of their career and personal stories.

Modeled after the legendary “Inside the Actors Studio,” this interactive series moves away from a standard concert format. With Award-winning songwriter Shondra as moderator, the audience is welcome to ask the artists questions during their concert. Gary Simpkins may be a new name to some in Sedona, although he is a celebrated musical treasure in the Verde Valley, known for his songwriting and seasoned musicianship as a single and his band, Spare Change.

“My joy in producing this series is introducing our community to the incredible talent right in our own backyard,” says creator Shondra Jepperson. “Gary Simpkins is a phenomenal songwriter whose work carries a genuine, soulful weight. I refer to Gary as our own John Prine. Tony and Kris are brilliant musicians – I can hardly wait for the Sedona audience to discover these musical gems of our community.”

Executive Director Patrick Schweiss added: “We’re excited to welcome Gary Simpkins to the Mary D. Fisher stage. He’s been a cornerstone of the Verde Valley music scene, and his bringing to Sedona with him, musicians Tony and Kris is exactly what this series is about. It’s an evening of discovery that our patrons are going to love.”

The “In the Living Room Music Series” is made possible through the generous support of presenting sponsor Cleaner Quicker Car Wash, alongside concert sponsors Sefton Engineering, LaserGirl Skincare, and new national sponsor MoonBrew. This collaborative support ensures that 100% of the ticket sales go directly to the performing artists and the Sedona International Film Festival.

In the Living Room Music Series featuring Gary Simpkins, Tony Cook and Kris Baldwin will take the stage at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Monday, March 23 at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are $20 and are available in advance at the Sedona International Film Festival office or by calling 928-282-1177 or online at www.SedonaFilmFestival.org. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona.
