Let’s face it. Were it not for the rich there would be no civilization.
I know it’s a bold statement but bear with me.
Were it not for the money, the will, the determination and desire by the rich through history to do so, there would be no recorded art, no concertos, no museums, no cities, no architecture, no invention, cars, trains, ships, medicine or science.
For it is only by the will of the rich that anything of any value for humanity has ever been accomplished and it is only by the will of the rich that this world functions as it does now.
Let’s start at the beginning. Picture pre-historic tribes wandering about the pristine planet foraging for food. It can be reasoned that these tribes were ruled by the elders passing down through generations the knowledge they needed to survive.
Let’s say a tribe with a few smarter leaders observes that the fruits and berries they pick come out at certain times in relation to the movement of the lights above them, meaning the moon, stars and the sun.
These wiser leaders also note that the seeds from the fruits they eat scatter and pop up from the ground at certain times where they scattered
So they find a way to end nomadic foraging and plant these seeds at specific times determined by the position of the celestial indicators.
So these tribes were able to force the earth to give them what they need and could settle by a river or nice place and begin to organize the land for themselves and build homes, progressing to cities as generations moved on.
Within the tribe it was natural for the smarter and harder working members to plant and grow more food successfully which they could trade for other cool things from other tribes.
So right from the get go it was the smarter, harder working humans that figured out how to survive better than others and create wealth and sustenance not only for themselves but for those they led as well.
So now we have the nomadic tribes still wandering about foraging and hunting. Noticing these juicy little farming communities settling along rivers the smarter of the hunters honed skills that eventually turned into war making ability.
So they plundered the farming communities, took what they wanted, took over their cities, learned their ways and maintained armies to protect themselves from other predators such as themselves.
Now we have castles and pyramids and Mayan cities evolving as civilization began taking form, the entire time being directed and shaped by the will and strength of the rich, the only segment of humanity at that time who could see the big picture and the preservation of their DNA.
So the rich, made sure their offspring studied and acquired skills to continue to lead and reap the benefits.
Once again, because they were smarter the rich made connections between disease and living in filth as peasants do. So they bathed, used eating utensils made of silver and kept their living quarters clean.
They ate better so naturally they were stronger and less prone to disease. While plagues decimated the poor the rich that practiced good hygiene stood the better chance of survival.
The rich, developing architecture also laid the foundation for the proliferation of art, music. The rich created museums and concert halls, hospitals and factories.
They say the rich create war and it is true but one must remember there is always another Rich tribe out there ready to come in and take what your tribe has.
It is the rich who make the weapons, provide the generals and direct the defense against others that would destroy them and their subjects.
And one can become rich even if they do not come from a rich DNA line because even though it helps to have great DNA and the privilege that comes with it, the bottom line to becoming rich is intelligence and will
If one has the intelligence, the will, the strength, confidence and desire to be rich, every opportunity is waiting today.
In conclusion, if the poor were left in control, civilization would go-prehistoric in a month. Appreciate the work of the One Percent. Without them, the world as you know it, would not exist.

Mr. Smith, just because what you say is true, does not make it right. You blithely forget to mention that without the backs of the slaves, the bodies of the young men who go to war to protect your interests and the workforce that keeps you in business, you and your kind would have cannibalized each other eons ago. You say we can’t do anything without you but you try doing something without us and see how far you get. It’s symbiotic. You need us as bad as you say we need you. Go try building a pyramid without the slaves to move the bricks. You’re in a Catch-22 and you know it. One thing that eludes me though is how people like you can sleep at night. You consciously profit from the misery of others, yet profess to be Christians in good faith. People bleed, are thrown into chaos and war and you happily profit. What gives with that? If you believe in Heaven then be sure you are going to Hell. People like you have to pay for what you do to the world, if not here then in the afterlife. Why? Why do you and your ilk do this to the good people of the world? Always invading, taking from the people and getting richer and richer from their suffering? How much more can your kind take from the planet before you realize there is nothing left? You live in this world too, you know. It goes you go down the same drain we do. Change your ways Mr. Smith. Our heads are on the same chopping block.
Mr. Perez, you obviously do not undestand human nature, yet there are many who try to keep changing it.
Mr. Smith… Where do I begin to tackle all of this stupidity??
First of all, I’m going to suggest you go as far back as 4th grade and study some history. Get yourself through high school and college, and PLEASE pay attention this time, before you even attempt to discuss or use the term “DNA” in connection with the rich.
I’m going to proceed to try to dissect the nonsense you have written. You will find my comments to your nonsense between these symbols: ME: <>.
None of your statements make sense. They do not even substantiate your idiotic assertions.

Let’s try that again so that my responses are included.
You will find my comments to your nonsense between these symbols: ME: .
None of your statements make sense. They do not even substantiate your idiotic assertions.
YOU: Let’s face it.
ME: That is an incredibly bold statement. Most people who have left an impact in this world were never rich. I bore through this entire piece, poorly written though it is, and feel you are an idiot. Most tycoons have become rich off the backs of others. Most have taken all they could, jumped on a good deal and never looked back to give a shit, neither about the world that surrounds them, nor their fellow human beings (whom they feel superior to). Greed is their core.
YOU: Let’s start at the beginning. Picture pre-historic tribes wandering about the pristine planet foraging for food. It can be reasoned that these tribes were ruled by the elders passing down through generations the knowledge they needed to survive.
ME: I’m picturing them. Looks like they already had knowledge to survive, which contradicts everything you proceed to assert. Intelligence already existed. Intellect has nothing NOTHING to do with money. However, HAVING money, has everything to do with POWER. Power does NOT equate intelligence! Although there have existed intelligent leaders in this world, as well as rich who are generous. Just goes to show, you can’t generalize about anything the way you do here. The ability to forge for food and survive equates intelligence, Mr. Smith!
YOU: Let’s say a tribe with a few smarter leaders observes that the fruits and berries they pick come out at certain times in relation to the movement of the lights above them, meaning the moon, stars and the sun.
These wiser leaders also note that the seeds from the fruits they eat scatter and pop up from the ground at certain times where they scattered
ME: If generations have already survived, through, as you say, “pre-historic tribes wandering about the pristine planet foraging for food…” the knowledge of how to pick fruits and berries has been in existence for some time. Again, because intellect was already there. They’ve already figured out what each season reaps. You don’t need “wiser leaders” for that. That wisdom already exists.
YOU: So they find a way to end nomadic foraging and plant these seeds at specific times determined by the position of the celestial indicators.
Me: “smarter harder working members…” most of which were women, I hope your realize.
YOU: So right from the get go it was the smarter, harder working humans that figured out how to survive better than others and create wealth and sustenance not only for themselves but for those they led as well.
ME: this tribal life was comprised of families who lived together. It was a communal thing. Thus, if all the men are hunting, gathering, etc. the women & children help with “forcing the earth to give them what they need” to quote you. So the “wealth” is being shared in within the scenario. So NO ONE is leading anyone here.
YOU: So now we have the nomadic tribes still wandering about foraging and hunting. Noticing these juicy little farming communities settling along rivers the smarter of the hunters honed skills that eventually turned into war making ability.
ME: you’re saying the nomadics who were foraging and hunting were smart enough to created war.” Hm… I sense some contradiction and lack of knowledge here, BECAUSE war existed between nomads and tribes from the very beginning. It existed with Caine and Abel. War results from the need to preserve an organization, not necessarily about riches, though more often than not that is the case.
YOU: So they plundered the farming communities, took what they wanted, took over their cities, learned their ways and maintained armies to protect themselves from other predators such as themselves.
ME: Thus, you’re saying these greedy evil people took over and created armies fearing others would do to them what they did in the first place. It sounds like what Europeans did to American Indians—which is known as Imperialism. I will include for you Wikipedia’s easy explanation of Imperialism here: “an unequal human and territorial relationship, usually in the form of an empire, based on ideas of superiority and practices of dominance, and involving the extension of authority and control of one state or people over another.”……..identifies two major subtypes of imperialism; the first is the “regressive imperialism” identified with pure conquest, unequivocal exploitation, extermination or reductions of undesired peoples, and settlement of desired peoples into those territories.[3] The second type identified is “progressive imperialism” that is founded upon a cosmopolitan view of humanity, that promotes the spread of civilization to allegedly backward societies to elevate living standards and culture in conquered territories, and allowance of a conquered people to assimilate into the imperial society, an example being the British Empire which claimed to give their “citizens” a number of advantages.”
YOU: Now we have castles and pyramids and Mayan cities evolving as civilization began taking form, the entire time being directed and shaped by the will and strength of the rich, the only segment of humanity at that time who could see the big picture and the preservation of their DNA.
ME: oh my god! You are an incredible simpleton. Yes. Usually rich, but NOT usually INTELLIGENT. In fact, THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN INNATE STUPIDITY and selfishness amongst those in power. The only big picture they—the rich—had/have on their minds was/is themselves and self-presevation. Also…. Those casltes came about differently from the Pyramids and Mayan civilization. Read a few history books, please!
YOU: So the rich, made sure their offspring studied and acquired skills to continue to lead and reap the benefits.
ME: The rich have always made sure their offspring inherit the wealth. The first universities came into being in the 11th century. Yes, only the rich could attend and “reap the benefits”. Not much different from today, how did this help the poor??
YOU: Once again, because they were smarter the rich made connections between disease and living in filth as peasants do. So they bathed, used eating utensils made of silver and kept their living quarters clean.
ME: Not because they were smarter. Being rich meant they could enjoy the luxury of taking baths, etc. They could afford utensils! Nothing to do with being “smarter.” This is where you are incorrect beyond all hope.
YOU: They ate better so naturally they were stronger and less prone to disease. While plagues decimated the poor the rich that practiced good hygiene stood the better chance of survival.
ME Not even gonna tackle the above statement, it is so incredibly stupid!
YOU: The rich, developing architecture also laid the foundation for the proliferation of art, music. The rich created museums and concert halls, hospitals and factories.
ME architects developed architecture, artists painted art. Musicians made music. Most died penniless. Museums, concert halls and factories were created by the rich for their own enjoyment from private collections. There is a long intricate history regarding museums and concert halls. Factories were of course essential to gaining wealth, but I will give you that although conditions for workers have been traditionally abominable, they did provide employment…. Hospitals? Have traditionally been funded by the private sector.
YOU: They say the rich create war and it is true but one must remember there is always another Rich tribe out there ready to come in and take what your tribe has.
ME: Yes war makes the rich richer. Look it up as to how they do it!
YOU: It is the rich who make the weapons, provide the generals and direct the defense against others that would destroy them and their subjects.
ME: Actually, it is countries who build and provide weapons. Corporations provide the money. You make it sound like war is a good thing. Generals are employed by armies, probably paid well, but not intrinsically rich.
YOU: And one can become rich even if they do not come from a rich DNA line because even though it helps to have great DNA and the privilege that comes with it.
ME: Seriously, your conclusion is so childish, reflects such lack of worldliness, please get yourself an education.
Calling people an idiot? Don’t give a s***? Intelligent writing? Simpleton? I normally find that people that go down this road have nothing really to say that is logical or can participate in an intelligent discussion.
You did get one thing right however:
Your quote:
Usually rich, but NOT usually INTELLIGENT. In fact, THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN INNATE STUPIDITY and selfishness amongst those in power.
We certainly have had a bevy of that the last five years, haven’t we?
But I guess all the rich fall into your disdain, even though, in this country, 20% of the people are paying over 90% of the taxes (IRS fact).
Travel to Europe; look at the great art, the great structures. How was all this created? The art, for the most part was the church, they were the rich of the day (and still do pretty well), and were the patrons of the arts.
People were tired of being oppressed, so they came here and started the greatest country the planet has ever seen. What a shame that many people who refuse to understand human nature in this country are trying to return us to the days of Europe when there were only two classes.

Mrs. Smith
Some may think that these “articles” or posts are genuine thoughts to defend the “rich”. But this article is meant to mock the 1%. It is meant to stir the liberal base. The problem with our political system today is the divisive way both sides fight for their position. They show a complete lack of respect for the opinions of the other side. How can you work with someone who calls you names and shows you no respect?
Mr. Smith and the “Contributor” are no different. Do not misunderstand their position by thinking they are defending the “rich”. Do not be fooled into thinking anything but that they want you to equate the rich with the right wing. To them, “rich” is a 4 letter word. For them, capitalism is corrupt, sinful and immoral. Everyone should be equal. The income of the rich should be redistributed to those below them. To these people, there is only so much to go around. The pie is finite.
Let me tell you that Capitalism does not make a finite pie. An old cliché is “a rising tide raises all boats”. Just as the pie keeps getting bigger, your piece of the pie as tiny as it may seem will continue to get bigger. Just the same way that gold rush towns developed and flourished when business was good. How about towns like Cottonwood, Clarkdale and Jerome? When the mines where producing copper by the ton, everyone was making money. Businesses sprouted up and the townships were formed. Over time our Arizona territory became a state.
To me, we should offer equal opportunity to reach for success. However don’t take that to mean that we should provide for those who WILL NOT provide for themselves. There is a big difference in wording from “will not” and CAN NOT” provide for themselves. It takes great ignorance or selfishness to say you won’t help those who CAN NOT help themselves.
Government can and has stifled business growth by over regulation and taxation.
The only way this country will succeed is to work together to meet each other in the middle and compromise. Diverse opinion, ideas, and contributions make us stronger as a nation.
With all due respect – I thank Mr Smith for his clever use of this space.
I find it interesting to see how the subject of wealth (recently thought of as a pile of money) brings out such emotional response. Look how easily it is able to represent “separation” and “power of one individual” over another. This article, in my humble opinion (IMHO), is enlightening ~ and may serve as a wake-up call to all who hold such polarized opinions coming out of a deep history that seems to repeat, repeat, repeat itself.
If individuals can step back from the long trials of life in our humanity’s drama ~ one might realize that we are nearing the curtain call – yes, that’s right. Soon we will all be able to attend the cat party – as peers – one and another all actors in the drama of the script so beautifully conceived and masterfully orchestrated.
If you are one who still holds the emotions of the “victim” and “unloved”, “unappreciated”, and “under-valued”, take a look at your characterization and see how well you have done at playing that role for oh so long ~ and when you are ready – release all the characterization and Re-member the parts of your authentic self. Remember these bodies are but vessels to walk around in – to play out the scenarios of experience in form on Earth during this period of time.
Whatever your beliefs in the past – whatever your awakenings may bring forth – this old drama is not all there is. It is in the cast party that we may discover that those acting as the rich in the drama may be the poorest financial situation – and those playing the poor are indeed the wealthiest by material standards.
Take from whatever your experiences have been in this life ~ and balance your own columns now. When money is no longer the measure of worth ~ then what? Perhaps this is where the wisdom truly comes in.
We are all in bodies made of the elements of this gracious Planet Earth ~ and yet ~ that is not the description of who we are, in my humble opinion. We ~ and a myriad of other living forms ~ all are given the opportunity to LIVE here now ~ in our designed forms with innate functions. We are now at a time when more functions are coming online.
It is time for the participatory role of the “war within” each individual to complete its scenes. For some ~ there may be another role of a different kind ready to unfold. Let’s come together and realize that we are each free to express in the ways that are most appropriate for each of us.
Is it really money that makes us feel separate? I know many who are born into or given money for the purpose of doing good things for the many. I know countless numbers of artists who are creating ~ whether or not they are flush with any money. I know many without financial wealth who live their lives ~ being “fully alive” – while some others with money like to “think” they are doing good for others – while they are actually using others to feed the needs of their own hidden shadow selves. All is not always what it seems. Patterns run deep in the characters of the Money Drama.
Change is not always comfortable ~ though it can be absolutely amazing!
The challenge for each now, (IMHO), is to look deeper into one’s own internal worth account. Can we truly step out of the old roles that became so familiar through time? Can we separate the “role” from who we truly are? Can we recognize we all are here by choice – perhaps for a myriad of reasons or simply one? Can we appreciate the interconnectedness of all life – all “living” life – and make choices that align ~ coming together for “creating life”, “nurturing life, and “sustaining life”, for all. Can we be Grateful and see the incredible opportunities that are here for us in the moment of NOW? This is when/where “We Create”.
The temptation is to play the old familiar role – while the moment is calling us to “be here now.”
Nothing outside of ourselves can truly give up happiness. (IMHO) This comes when finding the connection with the “light of the creator spark” within each of us. This is the great equalizer. The “potential” is within each of us ~ “ready” to unfold into the expanding visions beyond previously held limitations.
The “creator spark” within each of us is not limited to the physical form and no amount of human technology can take its place at this time. There is no amount of money that can buy it or give it to another. The discovery may require a moment of stillness – or it may occur in a moment of ecstatic dance, or while giving birth. The key is to recognize it – and nurture this connection with the eternal spark of life within.
There is an art to living ~ based on inner peace, fueled by love and joy, bringing forth wisdom. I see the potential in each of us and I know (from my own personal experiences) that great change can take place in an instant – with grace and ease.
The Call I recognize in this article is all about Freedom.
When the old roles complete – the play is done. Will we choose to rise in “living energy” or choose to dive into the experience of another dark drama? That which is outside of ourselves is also within. Can we truly claim our inalienable rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness?
The opportunity is presented – What IF you were suddenly given money to use for the benefit of others – how would you see things then? What would be the underlying motivation beyond your “predisposed beliefs and thoughts”? Could you and would you make a difference through innovative investments in co-creating a more benevolent reality or would you succumb to the repetitious patterns of the previous age? What if you did not have the money ~ then what would you choose to co-create? What is it you really want more than anything material?
These are the hidden gifts in this article for me to continue unfolding my potential of now. I appreciate all perspectives and this is the first time I am writing mine here! Thank you for this opportunity!!
This looks like it’s right out of Tavistock or MK Ultra. I’ve heard that the government now hires people to post crap on the internet. Just how much did you get paid Mr Smith?
Sounds like “Mr. Smith” is an alias for God.
Mr. Smith hits the nail on the head more than once.
What’s tragic is his lack of human compassion. Sure, there are wealthy families that through history continue to profit from the manipulation, degradation, destruction, enslavement and poisoning of humanity, but just as many of those who suck the life of their fellow men for profit, are the wealthy who care about their brothers and sisters and work to better the lot of us all.
At this point in the history of our evolution there is an equalizer that puts into the hands of the poorest a tool the most powerful of those who rule them cannot keep for themselves…and that is the Internet.
The sheep are waking up and the Internet is the alarm clock. Unless those who profit from death and disease shut it all down, our race will reach the point where those awake will outnumber those asleep. That point will mark our next quantum leap towards the fulfillment of man’s evolutionary purpose: to bring peace to the world.
I’ve said what I’ve had to say. It looks like some agree, some don’t. What a surprise. I find it interesting that the one who says:
“Calling people an idiot? Don’t give a s***? Intelligent writing? Simpleton? I normally find that people that go down this road have nothing really to say that is logical or can participate in an intelligent discussion.
You did get one thing right however:”
Call things as they are. Known as honesty. I don’t candy coat. All of Mr. Smith’s allegations are pure bull. It appears the article is not even genuine, as someone else asserted. You say I got one thing right? I got ALL of it right, and you know it.
And Mr. Acosta, by saying:
“Mr. Smith hits the nail on the head more than once. ” This means you agree with Mr. Smith, but then you go on to contradict him. Don’t say he hit the nail on the head! It means you support his stupidity.
AND As far as the internet goes, I don’t think it is an equalizer in the way that you think. How are the homeless, mentally ill, and folks who don’t have internet access helped, if they don’t own computers. Also, there are a lot of idiots on the internet, robbing identities, etc. This country is experiencing a shamefully embarrassing level of poverty and lack of education never imagined for the super power that it is. How does the internet help?
Mr. Mike Shroder you say:
—“Travel to Europe; look at the great art, the great structures. How was all this created? The art, for the most part was the church, they were the rich of the day (and still do pretty well), and were the patrons of the arts.
People were tired of being oppressed, so they came here and started the greatest country the planet has ever seen. What a shame that many people who refuse to understand human nature in this country are trying to return us to the days of Europe when there were only two classes.”—
AGAIN. In Europe, great art was created by artists, not by rich people. The architecture was commissioned by those in power. Everything on this planet is created from either a sense of need OR a need to express. Paintings, monuments, plates, furniture, culinary art–from hamburgers to complex, to pooping in your toilet all comes from creativity which is a daily minute by minute by product of being alive. Humans are ALWAYS creating just by thinking. Breathing, created by the creator of breath is an art. This means we are all the same–rich and poor. None is more valuable than the other. Mankind includes rich and poor. Yes the rich Koch Brothers want to dominate and control the wealth. If you’re afraid of what Europe was once like, you’d better start to worry of the Nazi mentality taking over your land. Americans, which AGAIN, includes both poor Republicans and Democrats, are currently more oppressed than ever. Yet, all those toothless, hungry trailer park dwellers who hate blacks, latinos and anything without blue eyes, are backing up the Koch brothers agenda. This is because rich corporations are dominating and controlling everything in this country AS WE SPEAK. Mr. Shroder, wake up. In America there are currently only two classes now–The 99% struggling and the one percent rich. EXACTLY like things were in Europe when America was the promised land. At the moment, many countries in Europe are much more advanced than the United States currently is. The cards have flipped. Take a trip abroad and you’ll see. They have advanced railway systems. Spotless streets. A safer system for credit cards. They have free health care for all citizens. There are some pretty wealthy countries doing very much for their citizens. If you damn Republicans weren’t so set to block everything Obama has tried to push through, we’d be in better shape. But no. He’s black. A black president is a bad thing. Never mind that he went to Harvard, Columbia Universtiy, etc. I’m sure you hold ten degrees too.
Qatar, Luxumborg, Norway, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brunaie Darusalam are all RICHER than the United States. This all developed under W Bushe’s watch. Which means we are slipping and continue to slip. Why are we slipping? Because there is no middle class in America. The American dream is held hostage by the 1%, mentality you support and have been brainwashed by.
While Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter are working to help the poor all over the world after their presidencies, George W sits on his ass painting mediocre portraits.
Ms Suzanne Grandon, very wise words. “All is not always what it seems.”
I agree with the spiritual soup you’ve poured into this. And your “all the world’s a stage” assertions. I believe in karma and reincarnation and all that shit, but at the same time I’m not sure about anything.
I like your within you without you George Harrison philosophy.
