    How to protect our Dark Skies

    Sustainability AllianceSedona AZ (February 28, 2020) – Astronomer Kelsey Johnson explains why keeping nighttime dark is so important and offers five simple solutions to fix the problem. Artificial light affects many species, including us. It’s been tied to cancer and obesity. The light pollution going out into space wastes $3 billion. Johnson says, “It’s stupidly simple” to fix this problem: don’t use more light than you need and turn them off, shield lights, avoid blue-spectrum lights and advocate for Dark Sky policies.
