Sedona AZ (February 10, 2021) – Breweries produce a lot of grain (typically barley and wheat) after the beer-making process. Inspired by the Circular Economy, a Canadian start up thinks it has a better idea than feeding it the waste grains to livestock: beer bread. Not bread leavened by beer but instead bread made from the spent grains. Find out how it works.

Here at Oak Creek Brewing Co., our “spent” grain gets used for many purposes. We use 5000 to 8000 lbs of grain per week, most of which goes to a couple of Verde Valley ranches due to ease of disposal and the ranchers get almost free feed. We also have people that pick up small amounts of the grain for uses ranging from compost, to baked goods and even dog treats!
