logo_USFS_USDASedona AZ (January 2, 2013) – The Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest is preparing an analysis for the Oak Creek Water Company #1 (OCWC) Project and seeking public comments concerning the proposal by Feb. 8, 2013.

The Coconino National Forest has received a proposal from OCWC to obtain authorization to construct, operate, and maintain new water transmission pipeline for improved water delivery services for their water customers. Approximately 932-linear feet (381 feet would be located above ground and 551 feet would be buried) of High Density Poly Ethylene black pipe of new water transmission pipeline would be constructed within the existing utility line corridor.

The proposed project includes issuing a new multi-year land occupancy special use permit for their existing pipeline and a new 10 inch diameter pipeline. This would require widening the existing right-of-way from ten feet to twenty feet to accommodate both pipelines. The project area will occupy approximately 0.43 acres of National Forest System lands.

Additional information regarding this proposed action can be obtained online at or from Steven E. Martinet, Realty Specialist, Supervisor’s Office, Coconino National Forest, 1824 S. Thompson St, Flagstaff, AZ 86001-2529, (928) 527-3418 or by email at smartinet@fs.fed.us. Comments are most useful if received prior to Feb. 8, 2013.
