Sedona AZ (February 29, 2016) – The Jewish Community of Sedona and Verde Valley is sponsoring its third Annual Benefit for the Yavapai Food Council (YFC). YFC administers the Weekend Backpack Program for Kids, as well as “Green Bags” bimonthly food collection, the Bountiful Kitchen (providing healthy lunches to public schools too small to have state-licensed kitchens), and Verde Valley Youth Food Pantries.
- When: Tuesday, March 8th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
- Where: Java Love Café, 2155 Arizona 89A #118, West Sedona.
- What: Music and light supper including a delicious “backpack wrap,” dessert and drink.
- Why: In the Verde Valley, 1 in 3 kids go to bed hungry! This fundraiser enables the “backpack teams” to buy food and pack bags to be given to students in need to take home for supplemental meals over the weekend.
