logo USFS USDASedona AZ (January 11, 2012) – In celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the U.S. Forest Service will waive day-use fees for the weekend of January 14 through 16, associated with many recreation sites on the Coconino National Forest, including the Red Rock Pass Area. This fee free weekend is being offered in cooperation with other agencies that collect recreation fees under authority of the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (REA), including: the National Park Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Bureau of Land Management.

As part of this nationwide event, fees will be waived for the entire Red Rock Pass area including Palatki and Honanki Ruins, V Bar V Cultural Site and approximately 300 miles of multiple-use trails. Areas not included in the fee waiver program are campgrounds and recreation areas managed under concession contract, such as Call of the Canyon, Grasshopper Point, and Crescent Moon Ranch.
