logo_sedonabookfestivalSedona AZ (June 18, 2014) – The 2014 Sedona Book Festival will be held on Saturday, October 4, at the Sedona Elks Lodge, announced Joe Neri, founder and organizer of this popular annual event to celebrate books and reading, and sponsored by The Well red Coyote bookstore.

As in previous years, the Festival will be an all-day event, with free admission for the public and featuring local and regional authors, publishers, organizations and others affiliated with books and reading. There also will be author presentations throughout the day.

Food and beverage service will be provided by the Elks, and the venue also provides ample free parking. The Sedona Elks Lodge is located at 110 Airport Road in Sedona, Arizona.

“This year, we will be at a new venue (for us) – the Sedona Elks Lodge. This is a slightly smaller venue than we’ve had in the past, so there will be fewer exhibitor tables available. But the good news is that all exhibitors will be together in one large room,” says Neri. “If you are interested in registering and reserving a table, do not delay. Our Festival has sold out every year and we expect to do so even quicker this year.”

    By Tommy Acosta

Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
