    Yavapai County News – MATFORCE, a primary prevention organization focused on stopping youth drug use before it starts, continues to partner with local law enforcement agencies to offer programs and services to properly dispose of medications throughout Yavapai County.

    Since 2008 over 44,800 pounds of medication have been collected and properly disposed of through Dump the Drugs events and drop box locations throughout Yavapai County.

    Prescription Drug Take Back events are a convenient way for community members to dispose of expired or unwanted medications. Prescott Valley Police Department is hosting a Dump the Drugs event on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Prescott Valley Police Department, located at 7601 E. Skoog Blvd..

    In an effort to promote continued proper disposal of medications throughout the year, 14 prescription drug drop boxes can be found throughout Yavapai County for convenient disposal. Contact your local police department for more details.
