Sedona News – Screenwriter and playwright Dev Ross will share her experience as Disney’s first female animation writer at the Sedona Heritage Museum on Thursday, March 13 at 10 am. Ross’ talk is part of the Museum’s popular Sedona Stories speaker series.

Emmy and Humanitas Award-winning screenwriter, television writer, playwright and children’s book author Dev Ross has written for Disney, Universal, Amazon Studios, Fox Kids, HIT Entertainment, Nickelodeon, Mattel, and Scholastic Entertainment. Dev served as the Artistic Director of two professional children’s theatrical touring companies. As a stage, television, and film actor Dev appeared in “Hot Flashes on the Trail,” “A Woman’s Hand,” “Nunsense 1,” “Nunsense 2,” “Suburbs: The Musical,” “Days of Our Lives,” “TNRC Presents,” “The Great American Hero,” “Divorce Court,” “The Eagle of Encino,” and “The Seventh Sign.” Sedonans may have seen Dev most recently in “The Dead Quilter’s Society,” which she wrote and starred in alongside Shondra Jepperson.
During her talk at the Sedona Heritage Museum, Dev will speak on her experience being the first woman writer hired at Disney TV Animation in the late 1980s, her mentors, her journey as a working writer and mother, and navigating Hollywood’s ageism.
Sedona Stories is a monthly program of the Sedona Heritage Museum. It is held at 10 am on the second Thursday of every month and is free to attend.
