Sedona, AZ — The Democrats of the Red Rocks (DORR) host “Disinformation and False Narratives in Today’s Media Landscape” with Catherine (Cathy) Sigmon, Arizona’s Civic Engagement Beyond Voting (CEBV), and Jody Rein, Indivisible Truth Brigade, at 9:30 am on Friday, September 19 at the Sedona Community Center, 2615 Melody Lane in West Sedona and on zoom.

False narratives flood the airwaves, and once-trusted sources are increasingly suppressed or compromised. Catherine Sigmon and Jody Rein will discuss the meaning of objective truth, how to distinguish fact from fiction, and how to encourage others to think critically before accepting or spreading disinformation.  Catherine Sigmon is co-founder of Arizona’s Civic Engagement Beyond Voting (CEBV), a statewide nonprofit that promotes active engagement with state and local government, and co-founder of Save Our Schools Arizona.  Jody Rein serves on Indivisible Truth Brigade’s National Programs team, where she develops and supports national social movement growth strategies.

This is great but wayyyy too late. The Alt Right/Russian propaganda machine has been pumping since the advent of social media. The folks who are susceptible to believing the lies and false news drank the Kool Aid long ago. The Fox News Parody Show and Q-Anon exasperated it, now there are hundreds of nut jobs in every level of government (the True Deep State) and it permeates every institution from Colleges to Hospitals.
To know if your news is truly Fake or not one only need to investigate who owns the source and what their political ideologies are. If they are not an accredited news source with journalists who actually went to correspondent school and training it is Not legitimate no matter how much Trump says they are.
