    Contra Dance in Clarkdale

    Clarkdale AZ (February 14, 2018) – This month only, Contra dance in Clarkdale will be held on the 4th Saturday: Feb. 24th. The band will be Under the Bridge, featuring Sonja Whisman on fiddle and Ron Barton on guitar. All dances will be taught and called by Kari Usher.

    Contra dance is an energetic dance form with some similarities to square dance–see examples on Youtube.

    Wear comfortable clothes and bring a snack to share if possible.

    Newcomers should be sure to come for the lesson at 6:30 PM and then dance 7-10:00 PM. 

    Sedona Gift Shop

    Enjoy the beautiful wood dance floor at the Clarkdale Clubhouse (auditorium), 19 N. 9th St (9th and Main.) If you can walk, you can contra! No partner or experience is necessary.

    Donation is $10 per dancer and $7 for students.  This dance is sponsored by the Clarkdale Historical Society and the Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music.

    The Bloody Machine

    What is a life anyway? A single “life?” Is it nothing more than a collection of emotions and thoughts, reverberating pain and pleasure, hopes, dreams and fear? Are we merely meat; flesh and blood creations encapsulating what we believe is a soul? Or is a single life the microcosm and macrocosm of human life on earth, each one of us a unique representation of who we believe we are and the whole of humanity at once? We are born. We grow old.
