Verde Valley News – Gardens for Humanity happily presents, in partnership with Verde Valley School Farm, a Community Mesquite Milling Event.
Mesquite was such an important staple in the diet of the people who lived here before settlers came, and it is STILL growing abundantly. Let’s explore how once again this magnificent plant can be deliciously incorporated into the diets and lives of the people of the Southwest.
Harvest beans, make sure they’re dry (roast them if need be), and bring them on over to 3511 Verde Valley School Road on October 2nd from 3-6pm! Check out the flyer for details.
West Sedona seems to have abundant beans, and rumor has it that Camp Verde’s beans are coming in a little later than the Sedona/Cornville area.
