logo_mentalhealthawarenessweekSedona AZ (May 25, 2016) – The Mental Health Coalition Verde Valley is beginning a Survivors of Suicide support group  for anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide. The group will hold its first Verde Valley meeting on Tuesday, May 31, 6:30-8:30pm  at Christ Lutheran Church, 25 Chapel Road, Sedona. Going forward, the group will meet the last Tuesday of each month.

The Coalition has partnered with  EMPACT Suicide Prevention Center of Tempe, AZ which provided local training for facilitators who themselves must be survivors of suicide. Among the trained Verde Valley Facilitators are Barbara Prats and Kathi Bellucci. This support group is not for individuals who have attempted suicide but rather for those who have lost someone to suicide. For additional information about the meeting, contact Barbara Litrell 649-0135 or blitrell@aol.com. In a crisis contact Jill McMahon at 480-784-1514 ext 1108.

Can one really believe that Polaris, with outlets across the country, would allow a precedent to be set where municipalities can ban OHVs on state-owned highways that run through their cities? The answer is a resounding “hell no.” Read more→
