    Clarktoberfest Back for a 2nd Year

    logo_clarktoberfestClarkdale AZ (September 2, 2015) – Clarkdale’s Entertainment District will be hoppin’ on Saturday, October 3.   Back for its’ second year is  Clarktoberfest on Main Street in Historic Downtown Clarkdale!

    Beginning at noon and continuing until 9 p.m., Main Street will be blocked off in the Historic Business District between 9th and 11th Street.  A beer garden, wine area, food, arts and crafts booths, activities for kids, and live music will make this a day-long destination for locals and visitors alike.

    Sponsored by Freeport McMoRan and Newgate Homes, the entertainment will include the Cultivators, Janice Paul Combo, Tarra Ortiz, Damn the Weather and Aces & Eights.  The stage will be set up on Main Street facing towards Mingus Mountain.

    Eight Arizona breweries and three local wineries will be available for tasting by event participants.   

    Sedona Gift Shop

    Clarkdale restaurants and eateries providing scrumptious food for purchase on the street .include Main Street Café and Pizzeria, Su Casa, Nate’s Cowboy Café, #1 Food Store, and the Clarkdale Market. All downtown businesses will be open for service.

    Plenty of parking is available throughout the town.

    There is still vendor space available!  A Vendor Application can be obtained by contacting madeinclarkdale2012@gmail.com. The Clarkdale Downtown Business Alliance planned and coordinated this event.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
