Clarkdale AZ (November 11, 2016) – Come enjoy a tour through the Clark Memorial Clubhouse, built in 1927 at a cost of $100,000. This beautiful building stands as an example of William Andrews Clark’s gift to his United Verde Copper Company smelter workers and their families. Built as the first company town in Arizona, Clarkdale has stood the test of time with its nostalgic hometown charm ever present today. Tours are scheduled for Nov. 16, Jan. 18, Feb. 15, March 15, April 19, and May 17. Meet your tour guides at the Clarkdale Historical Society and Museum located at 900 First North Street, just one block north of historic Main Street at 9:45 am. A brief introduction and short walk to the clubhouse followed by the tour will take you back to the days of a smelter town of the West. Donations are appreciated.
