Sedona AZ (May 22, 2015) – The City of Sedona is accepting applications to fill one vacancy on the City’s Historic Preservation Commission. This voluntary body is made up of seven citizens appointed by City Council. The Historic Preservation Commission was established by Sedona City Council to promote the protection, enhancement and perpetuation of properties and areas of historic, cultural, archaeological and aesthetic significance.
The term of service for this voluntary position begins immediately and ends on November 30, 2015. If you are interested in serving on this Commission, applications are available from the City Clerk’s office at City Hall located at 102 Roadrunner Drive, or by calling 928-282-3113. Please return completed applications to the City Clerk’s Office, 102 Roadrunner Drive, Sedona, AZ 86336. The deadline to submit applications is Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
In 1998, the Arizona State Preservation Office designated the City of Sedona as a Certified Local Government. To satisfy the City’s Certified Local Government (CLG) Agreement with the State Historic Preservation Office, the City seeks applicants who have demonstrated interest, experience or knowledge in at least one of the following: history, architectural history, architecture, historic interiors, historic architecture, planning archaeology, historic archaeology, real estate, historic preservation law or other historic preservation related field.
