City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (August 18, 2017) – On the heels of the summer monsoon the city is preparing to conduct weed control in several locations along the rights-of-way. All applications will be made between the hours of 7 a.m. and noon.

From Aug. 21-26 the city will spray along State Route 89A through the Uptown area to the northern city limits, and from Dry Creek Road to Soldiers Pass Road on the east side of the highway. Additional treated areas will be at Sunset Park; Posse Grounds Park; and the wastewater pump stations at 2240 Shelby Dr. and 800 El Camino Rd.

From Aug. 28-31 spraying will occur at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Wetlands.

The city sprays weeds to preserve aesthetics and safe sight distance along the highways. Materials are applied in compliance with regulations monitored by the Arizona Office of Pest Management and Department of Environmental Quality, and the federal Environmental Protection agency. Staff ensures that there are no pedestrians or animals in the spray zone during application and only the necessary amount of product is applied to ensure weed control.

In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
