SEDONA, Ariz. – In response to the ongoing high temperatures, the city of Sedona will adjust the schedule for the Sedona Shuttle Trailhead Routes serving Dry Creek Vista and Mescal trailheads to make transport to and from the trailheads end earlier and temporarily pause Route 12 service, effective July 31, 2025 – Sept. 1, 2025.

Highlights of the new schedule are below:

    Sedona Gift Shop

    • Route 11 – Dry Creek Vista and Mescal trailheads from West SR 89A Park & Ride
      • First bus to trailheads: 7:00 a.m.
      • Last bus to trailheads: noon
      • Last return bus from Dry Creek Vista Trailhead: 3:10 p.m.
      • Last return bus from Mescal Trailhead: 3:15 p.m.
    • Route 12 – Dry Creek Vista from Posse Grounds Park & Ride
      • Service is paused
      • Patrons are encouraged to use Route 11 from West SR 89A Park and Ride
    • Route 14 – Soldier Pass Trailhead from Posse Grounds Park & Ride
      • No change in schedule (buses run 7 a.m. to 5:08 p.m.)
    • Route 15 – Cathedral Rock and Little Horse trailheads from North SR 179 Park & Ride
      • No change in schedule (buses run 7 a.m. to 5:12 p.m.)

“There has been a rise in the number of hikers, particularly in the Devil’s Bridge area, who need to be rescued because they are not prepared for the high temperatures. We hope that by stopping the service earlier in the day to this area that it encourages people to get out in the morning when it’s not as hot,” said Transit Administrator Amber Wagner.

This change was implemented in conjunction with the U.S. Forest Service. As a reminder, the Sedona Shuttle operates Thursday through Sunday and service will run on Labor Day (Monday, September 1).  The complete schedules are available at www.sedonashuttle.com.
