    City hosts 4th of July Sedona Summer Splash

    Sedona News – Beat the heat at Sedona’s best pool party by attending the free 4th of July celebration Sedona Summer Splash, on Thursday, July 4, 2024, from noon – 4 p.m. at the Sedona Community Pool, located at 570 Posse Grounds Rd.

    In addition to swimming at the pool, outside the pool area there will also be music by DJ Frsh, food and treats available for sale from Old Crow and Kona Ice, a wet zone, games, a free hourly raffle with prizes, dunk tank and much more.

    Thanks to the event’s partners and sponsors: Arizona Water Company, Tiffany Construction, APS and the Sedona Fire District for helping make this event happen.

    Recreation swim will be limited to 300 people at one time, but festivities outside the pool gate will not be limited. Swim attire is required for pool use, and water shoes or other secure foot covering is recommended for the wet zone. Only ADA service dogs are welcome at this event.

    Council Slams the Brakes on Flock Surveillance in Sedona

    The Sedona City Council through a majority consensus voted 5–1 at its Wednesday, August 13, special meeting, to temporarily shelve a controversial auto license-reading surveillance program, with council members  Melissa Dunn, Kathy Kinsella  Brian Fultz,  Derek J. Pfaf and Pete Furman giving a thumbs down,  and Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow supporting the cameras.
