Sedona News – The city’s Arts and Culture Program will celebrate two incredible artists and two organizations at the upcoming seventh Mayor’s Arts Awards event on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre, located at 2030 State Route 89A in Sedona. The awardees and their categories are:

    • Individual – Winnie Meunch
    • Business/Organization – Sedona Visual Artists Coalition
    • Education – Chamber Music Sedona
    • Lifetime Achievement – Susan Kliewer

The Mayor’s Arts Awards, a signature event organized by the city’s Arts and Culture Program, recognizes four categories for exceptional contributions in the development and success of the arts in the Sedona community. A volunteer work group of local artists and art lovers reviewed each nomination and carefully selected the awardees based on predetermined criteria.

“With Sedona being home to many artists and galleries, drawing art lovers from near and far, I am proud to be honoring those artists who have made a substantial impact on our vibrant art community. I hope you will join us for this exciting celebration,” said Mayor Scott Jablow.

“I am truly excited to host this wonderful event with our Mayor. It is gratifying knowing that this will be the city’s seventh ceremony honoring our generous local artists. Each one transcends the call, elevating the arts in our community. I hope to see you at this free event, which promises to be a fun celebration for all,” said Arts and Culture Specialist Nancy Lattanzi.

A free ticket to the event will include a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres, music, photography, short films and more, culminating in awarding this year’s four recipients. Watch for additional information closer to the date on how to acquire a ticket; for more information about the event, visit www.sedonaaz.gov or contact Lattanzi at NLattanzi@SedonaAZ.gov or 928-203-5078.
