    Challenger British Soccer Camp returns to Sedona for a second week

    City of Sedona ArizonaSedona News – The city of Sedona’s Parks and Recreation Department will host the Challenger British Soccer Camp again for a second week this summer, this time from July 25, 2022 to July 29, 2022 at Posse Grounds Park.  

    The Youth Soccer Camp’s TinyTykes program for kids ages 2 – 4 will be held from 8 – 8:45 a.m. and costs $90 for the week. Children ages 5 – 14 have the option of a half-day camp from 9 a.m. – noon for $145 for the week, or a full day camp from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. for $200 for the week. Registration includes a soccer ball and t-shirt in addition to a great week at camp with coaches who have international experience.   

    “This camp is great as an additional week if you participated in the soccer camp earlier this summer, or perfect for new participants as well,” said Recreation and Aquatics Supervisor Josh Frewin.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
