    Burglary/Auto Theft Suspect Sought

    Camp Verde AZ (July 21, 2020) – UPDATE – In the early afternoon hours of Thursday, July 16, 2020,  deputies from the Camp Verde Marshall’s Office located wanted burglary suspect, 28-year-old Maxwell Rodney Leslie, in the 200 block of Mechem Lane in Camp Verde.  After a foot pursuit, Leslie was taken into custody.  Leslie was then booked into the Yavapai County Jail on charges of Burglary, Auto Theft, and Criminal Damage.  He is being held on a $15,000 bond.

    Camp Verde AZ (July 10, 2020) – The Camp Verde Marshall’s Office is asking for your help in locating Maxwell Rodney Leslie.  Between June 27, 2020, and July 4, 2020, three golf carts and various tools were stolen from three different locations in the Camp Verde area.  The golf carts were later recovered along with some of the tools.  The total value of items stolen is $ 21,000.  One of the incidents occurred in the area of Howards Road and State Route 260 and the other two crimes occurred in the area near State Route 260 and Big Valley Road. 

    The Camp Verde Marshall’s Office has identified the suspect as 28-year-old Maxwell Rodney Leslie (DOB 04/24/1992).  Maxwell is described as a white male 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.  He also has a tattoo an anchor on this right forearm.   His last known address was in the Clarkdale area, but he is believed to be staying in the Verde Lakes area.  Leslie is facing charges of Burglary, Auto Theft and Criminal Damage.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
