Sedona News – The Art in the Roundabouts (AiR) Committee of the Sedona Village Partnership is excited to announce two of the five artist entries submitted have been conditionally accepted for 3-dimensional public art for display on two of the four roundabouts in the Village of Oak Creek. According to Committee Co-chair Steve Fiedler, the two artist entries are “Village Treasures” by Reagan Word and “Dreamcatcher” by Chris Navarro.

The AiR committee reviewed inputs from the public and also considered the potential for acceptance by Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).  ADOT approval and fundraising are the next steps in moving forward with this wonderful community project.  ADOT approval will also consider which of the four roundabouts will be selected for the sculptures. The committee’s and public enthusiasm were overwhelming in support for these two pieces of art.

The project may take several years to be completed. Placement of art on the additional two roundabouts will follow in the future.

    Ode to Sleeplessness

    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

I sleep well most nights. This is something relatively new for me. For many years, I was a raging insomniac. I didn’t sleep well last night and found myself meditating around 4am, not so much to get to sleep but for something to pass the time.
