Sedona, AZ (September 19, 2025) – There’s a certain mystique that surrounds the creation of art, especially bronze sculptures, which require so many steps along the way. Award-winning bronze wildlife/figurative sculptor and gallery owner Ken Rowe seeks to demystify the process and kick-start the fall art season when he steps into the spotlight on Friday, October 3, for Mystified. Ken, who prefers to sculpt from live animal models, will demonstrate his process with the help of a surprise guest. In the past, that guest has been everything from a bobcat to an owl to Ken’s own dog. You just never know who will show up.

The sculpting demonstration begins promptly at 4 p.m. in the courtyard outside the gallery. Arrive early to stake out the best seats. Ken will sculpt until 5:30 p.m. At the reception that follows, see Ken’s creation up close and chat with the artist. A portion of the sales from the show will benefit the Humane Society of Sedona.

“For these shows, I don’t even build the armature in advance,” says Ken. “I just try to get as far as possible in the process – from the armature to the finishing touches – in an hour and a half. As always, I’ll be looking for help from the audience, so if you’re a budding artist, be prepared to get your hands dirty.”

During the reception, make sure to check out Ken’s two works in progress. Family Tree II depicts a Gambel’s quail family perched on a tree branch, while Canyon Shadows features an alert mountain lion and her two cubs.

Expand your art collection while making a difference in the community during one of the gallery’s most popular shows of the year. The evening ends at 7 p.m. See you there!

Rowe Fine Art Gallery represents traditional and contemporary southwestern artists. The gallery, located under the bell tower in Patio de las Campanas at Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, is open Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  For more information, call 928-282-8877, visit rowegallery.com, or find us on Facebook and Instagram.
